A Mini to Celebrate a Not So Mini Part of Me!

A girl needs her best friends - to be there when she is about to lose it, has lost it, or needs to lose it! And you can fill in whatever the it is! These are my best friends (from left to right in the first picture) Christian - who is currently sitting behind me fighting with my sewing machine and talking to herself, Sarah, and Kami. Their children are Amory's playmates and Christian's son is just about Priscilla's age so we can throw all of our kids together and they can play fairly well.
This is a mini album to celebrate that special relationship and highlight one of our favorite activities - our shopping trips that we attempt to go on four times a year - on each of our birthdays. This is our shopping trip on my birthday to Galveston's Strand district with little antique shops and cool boutiques. Thoughout the album I combined Graphic 45's Domestic Goddess and Fashionista, Basic Grey's June Bug, Pink Paislee and Rusty Pickle letter stickers, K & Company die cuts, the Melissa Frances bingo cards chipboard and misc. bits and bobs from my stash.

The front cover and all of us - a very nice picture with no silliness. That doesn't last long! Notice the title (see close up below) The Housewife Runs Away? Yep that is how we feel because we are leaving it (whatever it is) behind!
Second and third pages - notice how the silliness was so quick to appear? That's generally how it works with us! If we can't laugh at ourselves and each other than who the heck are we going to laugh at?

We found cook books that fit us to a T! Notice the close up with the Domestic Goddess tag - it has a huge question mark on it! And that is so true!

Look at Christian in her fashion model runway strut. You go girl! And Oh Lord we found more hats - watch out. I am surprised we didn't get kicked out of anywhere!
And the last page - a sobering reminder of what was happening in the exact spot where we were having such a crazy fun time. Hurricane Ike passed through our area leaving devastaion and ruin behind. But we are survivors and will not only survive but become stronger! Look how high the water line is and we are standing on the sidewalks that are three feet high as it is. Scary but like I said it will only make it better and stronger.

Thank you for stopping by and have a blessed day!
