Two of my Favorite Scrappy Things!

Long time no blog!

I waned to share with you the latest kit fromm Apron Strings and another new favorite that has returned from a much needed break!

The March Smaller than a Breadbox kit from Apron Strings is super fun - filled with birthday, Easter, and sweet spring fun! I created six layouts, two cards and only had a bicycle left!

I used sketches from the My Sketch World blog to complete some of my layouts. I am so happy that Lucy is creating sketches again - I cannot start a layout without a sketch - and her sketches are some of my favorites!

Using this sketch from Day 1 of the sketch a thon -

I created this layout of my big girl blowing out her candles on her birthday!Everything is from the Apron Strings kit!

Using this sketch from Day 6 of the sketch a thon -
I created this layout of my best friend's and my children painting with popsicles and playing in the sprinkler. What a way to start the summer! Everything from the Apron Strings kit except the bingo card (Pretty Little Studio) and the popsicle diecuts which you can find in the Apron Strings store here.

And the last I would like to show you is one of my favorites! I must tell a story with this one! The family and I visited the butterfly (and bugs too) museum. Inside there were game show type things to test your bug knowledge. Amory, Victor, and Priscilla tried everyone one however after one or two answers Amory would just wander off. Every time! Short attention span, maybe?

Using this sketch from Day 4 (turned on its side) -
And my layout!

July Already?

So does anyone where June went? It probably is under one of the piles in my craft room! Maybe under the pile of party stuff for Priscilla's Hunger Games birthday. Or possibly the pile of scrapbook layouts that have yet to find a home in an actual scrapbook. Or maybe it did happen and it was such a blur that I can remember a few highlights. Like Amory going to her first sleepaway camp at the beginning of the month, Priscilla going to camp at Abilene Christian University (500 miles away!), and getting some time to scrap! (that hasn't happened in a while!).

I played with the newest July layout from My Sketch World - turning it so I could use the Dance Recital Strip from Echo Park's Mini Themes Ballet Collection. This layout is pictures of Amory and her Grandpa Phil - they are besties and love each other so very much!

You Are Tu*Tu Funny!

Thank you for stopping by and have a blessed day,

A Step Back ....

You know when you are going in too many directions, the things you are doing are not of the quality you want, and when you haven't had the time to sit down much less love on your loved ones? I was there - I was frazzled and overwhelmed and frustrated - it came time to make decisions. It came to making a list and handing it to God.
I just finished a book where a line that I love and will repeat often is "God works step by step not mile by mile." He wants to take you and shape you bit by bit not big part by big part. My priority list was husband and my girls, family, being a part of Amory and Priscilla's schools, my church and my friends.
I want to scrap again and throw over the top parties for my girls, for Amory's school where I am the faculty hospitality chairperson, I want to make next year's youth auction as amazing (if not more) than last year. My team and I raised a little over $15,000 (three times as much as years before) at this year's. I want to finish scrappy projects that need to be DONE and start new scrappy projects and FINISH them.
I want God to take me bit by bit, my life bit by bit and shape me into the person I strive to be. He has made it possible for me to quit my two day a week job by giving Victor more opportunities at work, He has been working in Priscilla - I can see more respect from her and less teenage mess, I can see it coming together bit by bit. And I like it!

As part of my list I want to return to blogland! I love looking through your blogs and getting such wonderful beautiful inspiration from everyone and then turn around and do the same for you!
So this is a start - over the next week I am doing a rewind and showing you my layouts I have done with sketches from My Sketch World and layouts and projects I have done with kits from Apron Strings.
First up is the sketch from April at My Sketch World.
And my layout!
I scream u scream we all scream for icecream

And the next sketch is from May at My Sketch World
And my layout!

MSW and Apron Strings

I combined the My Sketch World November 1st sketch with the Apron Strings Smaller than a Breadbox kit for this layout. The kit was filled with
Authentique Thankful; Jillibean Country Pumpkin Chowder; Simple Stories Harvest Lane
and I had so much fun creating with it!

The sketch from My Sketch World -

As you can see I turned the sketch on its side!
My title was inspired by a favorite song of mine "This Is The Stuff" by Francesca Battistelli. You can hear it on her site!

Snakes On A Layout

It is the beginning of August which means a brand new sketch by Lucy Chesna at My Sketch World. This sketch was very simple and I left it simple! I kept wanting to add to it but I didn't which left alot of "white space" which I am not used to.
That leaves the focus on these pictures of Amory and Priscilla petting the snake. Amory loves everything creepy and crawly. She has been bitten by a spider three seperate times and a by a lizard once. She is the "bug whisperer" in our house. If there is a bug of any kind she gently picks it up and takes it outside.
She doesn't use her love of creepy crawlies for good all the time. No, of course not. She thinks it is hilarious to put June Bugs on her sister who squeals and runs!
But I digress ...
Here is the August Sketch -

I used the sketch upside down.

I Brake For Snakes

My Sketch World Sketch Reveal!

Good evening! I have been forehead deep in planning, prepping, and preparing for Priscilla's thirteenth birthday party. It was a huge success although we had to hold it indoors due to the outer bands of tropical depression making everything outside a swamp!
But I did stop long enough to create a layout using the sketch from July 1st My Sketch World. This layout was interpreted in so many ways by the other design team ladies - really great inspiration! I changed it up a bit to include four photos instead of the one photo.

I am so proud ....

I want to share a few "yep I did it - yeah it was me" moments. So bear with me while I brag!
The first is a proud accomplishment making something that I approached with much trepidation. But along with Pinterest, my friend Rebecca's technical advice, and my friend Sarah's encouragement I conquered all trepidation and made a bandana dress!
For $8.62 I bought two bandanas, ribbon, and a black and pink zebra print material. In about two hours I had created a ruffle, created armholes, sewed two bandanas together, and threaded a ribbon through!
Before this I had only created curtains and pillows. And now I can add dress to my list!
My dad said they got several compliments, people stopping to take a look, and asking about the dress. My dad told them he made it. Thanks Dad .....

My next proud shout out is I am on the My Sketch World Design Team again! So so excited - The women at MSW are my friends and we care about and love each other. Anyone who is part of this forum is a blessed lady!

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

Good afternoon everyone! The Let's Scrap blog Hop is over but all good things must come to an end. I wanted to say thank you to each and everyone of you for hopping by, giving me some advice on liquid glue, and following my blog! Thank you also for nominating my blog for an award (wow), and all the sweet comments on my cards.
I think I am the winner truth be told! But really I must choose a winner for the scrappy goodies I am giving away. I put the numbers in and random.org chose #64 who is Drue Peters!

I also wanted to show you a few more layouts I created with the sketches posted in the My Sketch World Sketch A Thon.
This first one of Amory and Grandpa Phil washing the truck together is dear to my heart. Well to be honest all the  layouts I do with grandparents and my girls are special to me!
I used the sketch from Feb 13 - and then moved it around a bit!

Happiness is You & Me
The next layout is of my oldest daughter, myself and both of the grandparents. We are all dressed up to go into the city to see Mama Mia. I used a title of a song from Mama Mia for my title and the lyrics of the song for the journaling.
I used the sketch from Feb. 11 - and didn't move things around ... much!

Thank You For The Music
This next layout is of my littlest graduating from preschool. I will admit it was a total blubberfest! 'Nuf said!
I used the sketch from Feb. 15 - and turned it on its side and moved the title.
Reduced to Tears
